FedFinder is compiled automatically from public records. That means it is current and comprehensive β and occasionally wrong.
What we'd like to know about
- An address, phone number or website that's out of date
- An organization that has merged, rebranded or closed
- Financial figures attached to the wrong organization
- A federation or community we're missing entirely
- A map pin in the wrong place
If you work at a listed organization
We'll take your word for it. Corrections from an organization about its own listing are applied without further verification, usually within a few days. If you'd prefer your listing removed entirely, say so and we'll remove it β no argument, no conditions.

Thanks β we've got it.
We read every message. If we need anything more, we'll reply at the email you gave us.
Picking the Federation it's about makes this much faster to act on.
Where our data comes from
- Organization list β the Jewish Federations of North America public federation directory.
- Addresses and financials β IRS Form 990 filings, read from the IRS's own e-file releases and, for older years, theProPublica Nonprofit Explorer; the IRS Exempt Organizations Business Master File; and, for Canadian federations, T3010 returns from the Canada Revenue Agency's open data.
- Map coordinates β the US Census geocoder and OpenStreetMap.
Where we can't confidently match an organization to its IRS or CRA record, we publish no financial data rather than risk showing another organization's numbers. 10 of 184 listings have no figures: some are too small to file a full return or are congregations that aren't required to, and the rest are awaiting confirmation of which record is theirs.
