These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of fedfinder.org and related services (together, the "Services"), operated by DNAcreatives LLC ("FedFinder," "we," "us" or "our"). Please read them carefully, together with our Privacy Policy.
1. Agreement
By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services. If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, you agree to these Terms for that organization and confirm that you're authorized to do so.
2. What FedFinder is
FedFinder is an independent directory of Jewish Federations and communities in the United States and Canada, with their events, programs and public financial filings. FedFinder is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Jewish Federations of North America or any organization it lists.
Our information comes from public sources, including JFNA's public Federation directory, IRS and Canada Revenue Agency filings, and organizations' own websites and calendars. We work to keep it accurate, but it can be incomplete or out of date. Confirm service areas, programs and contact details with the organization, and confirm event details, eligibility and registration with the event's host, before relying on them. To report an error, use our corrections form.
3. Using the Services
You agree not to:
use the Services for anything unlawful, harmful, harassing or deceptive;
submit forms automatically, in bulk, or with false information, or send spam through them;
impersonate any person or organization, or misrepresent your connection to one;
interfere with, overload or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services or the systems behind them;
access the Services by automated means except in line with our robots.txt file and at a rate that doesn't burden them.
We may suspend or block access to the Services for anyone who breaks these Terms.
4. Messages you send through FedFinder
Messages sent through a Federation's page on FedFinder come to FedFinder first. We read each message and, with your permission, forward appropriate ones to the Federation you chose. We can't guarantee that a Federation or any other organization will reply, or how it will respond.
Please don't use our forms for emergencies, and don't send sensitive information such as health, financial or government ID details. How we handle what you send is described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Content you submit
When you submit an event, a correction or other content, you confirm that it's accurate and that you have the right to share it. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, edit for length, clarity and format, display and distribute it on the Services and on our affiliated websites. We review submissions and may decline, edit or remove any of them at our discretion. Submitting doesn't guarantee that anything will be published.
6. Featured listings
Hosts can pay to feature an event through our Promote your event page. These terms apply to every featured listing, in addition to the rest of these Terms.
What a featured listing is
One event, shown in the featured spot at the top of the Event Calendar for visitors in the Federation area you choose, and on that area's city events page. Your event is also listed on the Event Calendar and on the local Federation's FedFinder page, with a link to your own event page for details and registration.
Every featured listing is labeled "Sponsored," because it's paid placement. The label can't be removed. If more than one featured event is approved for the same area, they may share or rotate the spot.
Price and payment
A featured listing costs $40 (USD) per event, paid once. You aren't charged when you submit. We review your event first, and if we approve it, we email you a secure payment link from Stripe, our payment processor. Your feature goes live after payment. Stripe handles your payment details under its own terms; we don't see or store your card number.
How long it runs
A feature starts on the day it goes live and runs until your event ends, for no more than 30 days. We don't guarantee any number of views, clicks, registrations or attendees.
What we accept
To be featured, an event must:
be a real event hosted by or for the Jewish community, open to the people it's advertised to;
have an accurate title, date, time and location, and a link to the host's own page about it;
comply with the law, and contain nothing deceptive, hateful or harassing.
We may decline any submission, and may edit a listing for length, clarity or format. We may remove a featured listing that breaks these Terms.
Cancellations and refunds
If we decline your event after you've paid, or can't run your feature, we'll refund you in full.
If your event is cancelled or postponed before your feature goes live, tell us and we'll refund you in full or move the feature to the new date, whichever you prefer.
Once a feature has gone live, it isn't refundable. If the event is rescheduled while it's live, we'll move the remaining days to the new date once, at no charge.
A feature we remove for breaking these Terms isn't refundable.
Refunds go back to your original payment method through Stripe. To ask for a refund or a change, use our contact form.
7. Third-party sites and services
The Services link to websites and services we don't control, including Federations' and event hosts' websites, registration pages, maps, payment pages and social networks. We aren't responsible for their content, availability or practices, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.
8. Our content and the open data
The Services, including their design, text, graphics and the way our information is selected and arranged, belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. The datasets we publish on our data page are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0, as that page explains. Other names and trademarks shown on the Services belong to their owners, and their use doesn't imply endorsement.
9. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any listing, event or program is accurate, current or suitable for you.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, FedFinder and DNAcreatives LLC won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50.
11. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify FedFinder against claims, losses and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from content you submit or your breach of these Terms.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to the Services will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in that state, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we do, we'll change the effective date at the top of this page. Changes apply from that date, and continuing to use the Services means you accept them. A featured listing that's already been paid for keeps the terms in effect when you paid.
14. Contact us
